Image Transfers- Throwback Thursday

There used to be a particular brand of photo paper that was rubbish for photos as it wasn't waterproof.  However, this flaw made the paper perfect to use to do ink jet image transfers.  All one needed was a spray bottle, some paper, and a wooden spoon to make the loveliest of image transfers.  It worked on paper, fabric, and even light-colored leather.  And, as a bonus,often the post-image transfer photo paper was pretty cool looking and could also be used in journals and paintings and what have you. Oh, I LOVED that paper.

Sadly, the manufacturer discontinued this paper years ago. I, however, have a hoarded stash of this paper, and I am selling some of it in my Etsy shop.

Brunch with the Doctor

Having a grilled cheese, and watching my most favorite episode of Dr. Who, Vincent and the Doctor.  I cry unabashedly at the close every single time.  

 

The premise being the Doctor and Amy travel back in time to meet Vincent Van Gogh, whereupon an adventure ensues, and at the close they try to show Vincent how much meaning his life truly has.

Update!

Way back in February, I did a ton of repair work on my laptop, replacing broken parts and upgrading as I went. My laptop worked like a dream, practically purring as it zoomed along the internet.

Then in May, my youngest spilled a very tall, and very cold, glass of chocolate milk into my laptop. She tried very hard to keep it working, because, having watched me learn how to fix my laptop, she knew I had invested quite a bit of time into the repair.  But, turning it back on each time it shut itself off wasn't as helpful as she hoped!

Following this event, my middle's cheapie laptop's motherboard died. With only one working computer at our house, my computer time has been fairly non-existent, making it hard to run a business and to stay in touch.  (and I'm lonely! way!)

And, like many folks these days, money is very tight. I've been searching for a new job, hoping to return to the workers, and having a working computer would be a big help with that process.
