I've been making jewelry. Lots of jewelry. Lots and lots of jewelry. So, I've opened The Wishmonger, an Etsy shop. I've listed more than fifty items. I've been a bit nervous about inviting everyone in, which is silly, but true!
From my shop announcement : "Since we're dealing in wishes here, you never can tell exactly what you'll find... handmade jewelry, art, hand-bound books, vintage goodies, random antique bits, thrifted treasures, flotsam & jetsam, and perhaps even... wishes. Come have a look! You might find something from your wish list!"
"If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a hope-er, a pray-er, a magic-bean-buyer... come sit by my fire. Come in! Come in!" - Shel Silverstein
Right now, I've listed jewelry and one bit of unburied treasure... more will come!
(The prices are very reasonable, and US priority shipping is included in the price listed.)

About My Jewelry:
I've always been fond of talismans, touchstones. I've written with the same Waterman rollerball for over twenty years. Many of my favorite pieces of jewelry have been with me for decades- a long oval silver ring I bought while I was in high school, a couple pairs of dangly earrings I bought in college, the sturdy silver bangles that rarely leave my left wrist that I purchased in grad school, a silver filigree ring I found at a flea market when I was pregnant with my oldest child... all still with me and in heavy rotation. I like finding keepers- those treasures that intuitively feel like me.
When I first started to work with semi-precious and precious stones, I chose gemstones intuitively, based on what colors and textures drew me in, what stones felt good in the palm of my hand.
When I looked into the meanings and properties of the stones I had chosen, all the meanings & properties dovetailed around a couple of specific themes - enhancement and support for one's creativity and nurturing abilities. I was intrigued.
I wondered about the meanings of stones I hadn't chosen; were they all similar? No, I learned, the meanings of various stones are different. Interestingly, many of the meanings and properties ascribed to various gemstones have been the same since ancient times.
Something serendipitous had occurred; a message for me had arrived from the universe, my subconscious, from somewhere.
Maybe there are messages there for you too?
Ooooh, I'm so excited for you! I totally get the nervousness. I had an art show this winter and I didn't tell many people at all. I'm off for a long weekend of jewelry making myself. I made the jewelry for my wedding and enjoyed it so much. It's exciting to set out on a new adventure. I love your designs as you well know. Now I'm off to explore your shop.
