use TiltShift Generator! without an iPhone!
Over on The Camera in Your Pocket, my iPhone photography class, I explained what TiltShift is ...
but in a nutshell, TiltShift apps mimic as best they can the effect of TiltShift lenses and lenses that offer selective focus like the Lensbaby. People use TiltShift to manipulate their photos to look like miniature models... you know, like the scenery in a model railroad set up. The Lensbaby moves to move the in-focus area in a photo, allowing the photographer to decide what areas are blurred and what is in focus= selective focus. There is an aesthetic quality to blur that can make images interesting. In general, the eye of the viewer is drawn to areas in sharp focus first... TiltShift Generator offers the ability to create the miniature model look, and to mimic selective focus. Besides their iPhone and iPad app, they offer a web based app. It doesn't produce the highest quality of image, but it can be fun to play with.
