When one is ill
and propped up in a chair,
attempting feats
of intelligence and creativity,
with fever-fogged thoughts,
it is best to look closely
at those you love,
collecting comfort
in the curve of a cheek
the blue of an eye
infinitely long eyelashes
and dimpled, pudgy fingers.
These glimpses of time
do not care
about erudite writings
or stretched-until-taut
deadlines; they are
only beautiful.
So, then, smile.
Take a deep breath.
Give a contented sigh.
Have a sip of tea.
and work.

Beautiful photos and beautiful words. Isn't it amazing what you can do with an Iphone! I can't tell you how much I'd love to go back a few years and hold my children's chubby little hands again...only for a moment. Thank you for your post. Love your blog!

Sometimes, the ability to see these things is triggered by the mushy mind and body that had to get off the treadmill of life. Lovely images of your dear littles....be well.

What a reminder to pause and appreciate the perfection of being here right now. I hope you are well or at least on the mend. Take care.
