More than thirty techniques for adding content into, onto, on top of your photographs are covered in this fifteen week class. (Yes, I did say more than thirty.) This course will cover altering your digital (or film) photos by hand- high touch onto high tech! You'll draw on photos you've shot or photos you do shoot, but we won't have any photo assignments. I'll talk about how a particular technique communicates certain kinds of content and you can choose any photo you wish as you learn each technique.
You'll print your photos out at home on any inkjet printer - mostly on matte photo paper. We'll alter them using commonly found art supplies to add content, and therefore meaning to each image. The techniques can be used on images added to paintings, drawings, and journal pages.
I'll use video and photographs (along with written step-by-step instructions where useful) and you'll be able to work at your own pace, since your class access does not expire.
Registration begins immediately, and class will begin on October 18, and continue for the next fifteen weeks! This class is the penultimate companion to my The Camera Looks Both Ways or Journaling Through the Lens classes. Cost is $50. Class policies and info can be found here.
Here's a video trip through my journals showing pages created using some of the techniques:
