blue, unblinkingly blue skies and heat, scorching
white sand, warm, jewel green water,
laughter and shrieks
the salt in my short curls
with a sprinkle from a sandcastle or two
that will drift down my back
as I stand in the market checkout line
heading home to make dinner
later, as nightfall nears
the daily thunderstorm offers dramatic excitement
and some place for all the damned mosquitoes to breed.

Ah yes. Florida in the summer. I remember.
